I didn't plan to build Churches.ai. God arranged it.

I was the Communications Director at Covenant Church of Pittsburgh — one of the most well-connected ministry networks in the country. We had systems. We had infrastructure. We knew how to run a church operationally because we'd spent years building the machinery underneath the mission.

In early 2020 we had a consultant flying in to help us level up our communications infrastructure. At the last minute he hit a visa problem. Couldn't get on the plane. So we did something we'd never done before — we met virtually, on a platform none of us had heard of called Zoom.

Three months later the world shut down.

"While churches everywhere were scrambling to figure out streaming, online giving, digital follow-up, and virtual community from scratch — we already knew how. Not because we were smarter. Because God had already walked us through the learning curve before we knew we needed it."

We survived. We adapted. We grew.

Partner churches we loved didn't. Some of them closed their doors and never reopened. Not because they lost faith. Because when the offering plate couldn't pass, the lights went off. It was an infrastructure problem. And it was solvable.

The difference wasn't faith. It was systems. It was digital infrastructure that had been built before anyone knew it would be needed. It was the operational foundation that every church needs and most churches don't have.

That's why Churches.ai exists.

Not to sell you software.

To make sure that when the next disruption hits — and it will — your church has the infrastructure to stand. The systems, the tools, the digital foundation that turns a crisis into a testimony instead of a closing.

God was previous in 2020. He's being previous right now. The question is whether you'll build while you have the runway.

About the Founder

James Sudduth

James served as Communications Director at Covenant Church of Pittsburgh under Bishop Joseph L. Garlington Sr. — one of the most respected church leaders in the country. During his tenure he built the church's digital communications infrastructure from the ground up, leading the organization through one of the most disruptive periods in modern ministry history.

He is the founder of MinistryDigital and the creator of The Seven Stages — a 17-session discipleship curriculum designed to take a new believer from the moment of decision through full deployment in the body of Christ.

Churches.ai is the operational infrastructure layer of that same mission: equip the church to do what it was built to do, at the scale God intended.
